Hello!!

Hello everyone! I am a first time blogger and so in this blog, I would like to focus on introducing myself to whosoever is interested. I'll start with a bit of a background. I was born and brought up in Patna, Bihar where I did my schooling from Don Bosco Academy (ICSE board) and Baldwin Academy (CBSE board). I relocated to Delhi and graduated from Sri Aurobindo College, University of Delhi with an Honours degree in Applied Psychology. For a post graduate program, I shifted to Kolkata, where I enrolled in University of Calcutta, an honour I share with my late great-grandfather, who was an alumnus from the Law program there.

I got married soon after completing my Masters and moved to the USA where I lived for two years. During my time there, I volunteered at a local hospital in Mansfield, Ohio and was enrolled in Ohio University from where I completed courses in Cognitive Psychology and Women's Issues. Me and my husband moved to Jaipur over a decade ago and are still getting to know the city and culture.

Some of my work experiences include participating in a WHO funded project GFATM-7: The HIV Subcomponent associated with University of Calcutta, working in a school for underprivileged children run by the Akshar Welfare Society in Jaipur, teaching Psychology for the CBSE and IB boards in Neerja Modi School, participating in a DST (GOI) funded project to spread awareness about perinatal depression, associated with Manipal University.

Last year, I was briefly associated with St. Xavier's College as a Guest Faculty in the Department of Psychology. While my role was limited, it was a very meaningful experience. This year, I am excited to join St. Xaviers College Jaipur as an Assistant Professor and grow in my journey as an educator. I am really looking forward to interacting with the students, getting to know them better and hopefully kindling within them the fire for striving towards personal excellence.
